What we do
Most UK businesses reach the point where commercial solar clearly pays, then get stuck on the harder question: how to fund it. There are seven realistic ways to pay for a commercial system, from buying outright to a zero-capex Power Purchase Agreement, and each one produces a different cashflow, tax position and lifetime return. We exist to make that decision clear. You tell us about your building and your electricity spend, and we return comparable, costed quotes across every funding route so you can choose on evidence rather than on whichever option a single installer happens to push.
Independent by design
We are not tied to one funder or one finance product. Because we compare every route side by side, the outright-purchase case is presented as honestly as the PPA case, and we will tell you when a lease is a false economy or when the lifetime return of owning outweighs the convenience of paying nothing upfront. Our quotes model the things most cost guides skip: the Annual Investment Allowance, reclaimable VAT, the business-rates exemption and export income, all of which change the real net cost of each route.
Straight on tax
We take the tax detail seriously because getting it wrong costs businesses money. Solar PV is special-rate plant, so it does not qualify for the headline 100% full expensing, a point a surprising number of solar sites get wrong. What it does qualify for is the Annual Investment Allowance, which gives 100% first-year relief on the whole cost of most installs, and the 50% special-rate first-year allowance above that. None of what we publish is financial or tax advice, and we always recommend confirming your position with your accountant, but we make sure the starting point is correct.
Who we work with
We connect you with vetted, MCS-certified installers and established asset-finance providers and funders. The installers hold the accreditations that matter for a compliant, SEG-eligible commercial system, and the funders provide the PPA, lease, hire purchase and asset-finance options we quote. We are a comparison and quote service, not a lender or a financial adviser, so there is no pressure and no obligation at any stage.
